The Xiao Hui Wang Art Museum is the first art museum in Shanghai, encompassing photography, video and film, multimedia, interactive media, lighting, and new media. Its objective is to “lead the art-inspired lifestyle, transform life through creativity, promote international culture, and empower youth to shape the future.” The museum encourages interdisciplinary art, drives cross-border innovation, and creates a significant platform for the collaboration of art, fashion, technology, design, and lifestyle.

The museum has actively participated in international art exchanges and projects. Ms. Xiao Hui Wang was honored with the “German-Sino Friendship Award” by the German government. The museum’s “China @ World” program promotes international art exchanges, welcoming young artists from both domestic and foreign backgrounds. As the first art museum in Asia, it adheres to international environmental standards. With the support of renowned international brands, the museum advocates for carbon neutrality and organizes public welfare activities to promote future lifestyles. The museum is not just a physical space; it is a living artwork itself. Every corner and detail reflects the artist’s imagination and Xiao Hui Wang’s pursuit of integrating art and space. Ms. Xiao Hui Wang is an interdisciplinary artist based in Shanghai and Munich. While her early focus was primarily on photography, over a decade ago she expanded her artistic practice to include various disciplines such as video, sculpture, design, new media art, and writing. She has successfully held numerous solo exhibitions in multiple countries and her artworks have gained recognition and been acquired by prestigious international art institutions and collectors. With over 50 albums and books published worldwide, Ms. Wang’s remarkable achievements include being the only Chinese artist featured in the art history book “150 Years of Masterpieces of Photography” by renowned publisher Prestel in the UK, USA, and Germany. Among her highly influential works is the autobiography “My Visual Diary,” which has received three literary awards, been reprinted over fifty times, recommended by 20 friends, and remained a best-seller for 20 years.

She has organized numerous impactful cultural exchange events and large-scale art projects bridging China and foreign countries. Recognizing her contributions, the German government awarded her the German-Chinese Friendship Award, and she was honored as one of the 50 Chinese individuals who will shape the future of the world by Hong Kong Phoenix Weekly. In 2017, she achieved a significant milestone by winning the Athena Awards, becoming the first Chinese woman to receive this prestigious global recognition in 35 years.
